Reservoir/Simulation Engineer – St. John's, NL

Introduction

Dovre is currently identifying candidates for a potential upcoming opportunity for a Reservoir/Simulation Engineer with a major energy client in Newfoundland & Labrador.

Function

  • 10+ years of engineering experience in the oil and gas industry, including a minimum of five years focused on reservoir engineering.
  • Strong understanding of fluid mechanics, geology, petrophysics, and the thermodynamic behavior of fluids.
  • Experience in field development planning, including the design and optimization of depletion strategies, well count, well placement, and secondary recovery methods.
  • Proficiency in reservoir simulation tools (Eclipse, Intersect, Petrel)
  • Experience in production forecasting and reserves determination.
  • Broad reservoir engineering experience, with a proven ability to identify and assess key issues related to field development and ongoing reservoir management.
  • Ability to lead the development, maintenance, and history matching of fit-for-purpose dynamic reservoir simulation models.
  • Ability to interrogate and perform quality control (QC) on reservoir models, and conduct sensitivity analyses across various cases and realizations.
  • Understanding of, and ability to apply, economic and risk assessment methodologies for capital projects.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong collaboration skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Professional designation (e.g., P.Eng.) preferred.
