Reservoir/Simulation Engineer – St. John's, NL
Introduction
Dovre is currently identifying candidates for a potential upcoming opportunity for a Reservoir/Simulation Engineer with a major energy client in Newfoundland & Labrador.
Function
- 10+ years of engineering experience in the oil and gas industry, including a minimum of five years focused on reservoir engineering.
- Strong understanding of fluid mechanics, geology, petrophysics, and the thermodynamic behavior of fluids.
- Experience in field development planning, including the design and optimization of depletion strategies, well count, well placement, and secondary recovery methods.
- Proficiency in reservoir simulation tools (Eclipse, Intersect, Petrel)
- Experience in production forecasting and reserves determination.
- Broad reservoir engineering experience, with a proven ability to identify and assess key issues related to field development and ongoing reservoir management.
- Ability to lead the development, maintenance, and history matching of fit-for-purpose dynamic reservoir simulation models.
- Ability to interrogate and perform quality control (QC) on reservoir models, and conduct sensitivity analyses across various cases and realizations.
- Understanding of, and ability to apply, economic and risk assessment methodologies for capital projects.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong collaboration skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Professional designation (e.g., P.Eng.) preferred.
