Project Manager – Oslo

Introduction

Location: Oslo/ Halden and travel to Germany 
Duration: Asap – 12 months

Function

General – PM role – Overall management of the assigned project(s), including – but not limited to – the following:

  • Ensure that project(s) are executed in line with the mandate given – according to Contract requirements and Clients as well as internal expectations (QHSER, sales, cost, margin, cash, time, phasing)
  • Effective use of the Project Model and internal procedures, including profitability requirements
  • Manage a geographically spread project team organization
  • Ensure adequate use of tools, processes and procedures for project execution 
  • Ensure effective use of the resources within the team and in cooperation with the departments, disciplines and internal units to meet internal and external requirements/obligations

Tender Process Assistance:

  • Provide input upon request to allocated tenders for aspects relating to Project Management
  • Take a temporary role in the tender team if required
  • Take active part in the DICs / IDCs / risk assessments

Project Execution:

  • Obtain an as optimal project execution as possible in accordance with the Project Model, including identifying and managing risks and opportunities  Organize and lead the project in order to achieve the best possible co-operation between the involved units and team members
  • Ensure effective use of the resources to meet internal and external requirements – also taking people management in priorities  Be overall responsible for intercompany agreements and dedicated sub-contracts  Report to Client according to Contract requirements
  • Report status including deviations to the Project Director and the Steering Committee leader on a monthly basis – including but not limited to – planning and progress, the technical issues, procurement/subcontracts, construction, finance, invoicing, QA, HSE, Risk, legal conditions and personnel conditions
  • Report to the Steering Committee whenever deviations or need for changes to the given mandate (contract, budget, schedule, resources) arise
  • Provide input to the overall resource planning from the project (provide correct forecast for manhours) 

Other reporting according to senior management requirements Other responsibilities:

  • People management at high standard
  • Support changes to ensure effective use of the resources and to meet internal and external requirements
  • Capture and share lessons learned throughout the project
  • Support and contribute to improvements / changes within the organization 
  • Support to system and competence development as well as training of personnel within project support for the Business Group

Requirements

  • University degree MSc, BSc – or equivalent competence
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant industry and operational EPCI experience
  • Proven project management skills and experience
  • Economical capacity, anticipate and offset financial risks
  • Commercial abilities, anticipate and offset legal risks
  • Ability to understand Clients and competence to deflect and/or adjust approaches based on client personality and cultural expectations
  • Ability to reduce friction and/or lead improvement plans related to any internal coordination and/or collaboration deficiencies (teams, sites, functions)
  • Fluent English, oral and written – proven communication skills
