Function
This leadership role is responsible for developing and implementing an integrated inbound supply chain strategy for our clients operations. This includes overseeing procurement for operations and inbound logistics with a focus on delivering process efficiencies, cost reduction, and operational excellence.
The Procurement and Inbound Logistics Manager will provide strategic direction and lead a major transformation in materials management. This will involve integrating best practices and modern supply chain tools to optimize operations.
Key responsibilities include:
Supply Chain Transformation: Lead a transformational change in materials management, applying continuous improvement and change management strategies. Integrate warehouse functions fully into operations and eliminate shadow inventory.
Cost and Performance Optimization: Implement benchmark processes and initiatives to enhance supply chain performance and reduce costs. Provide robust solutions for all procurement activities to minimize risk and ensure safe, cost-effective, and timely project delivery.
Stakeholder and Agreement Compliance: Develop a deep understanding of Indigenous and other agreements (including IBAs), ensuring compliance and maintaining competitive commercial conditions within a complex operational environment.
Total Cost of Ownership Strategy: Optimize procurement activities through a total cost of ownership lens, factoring in logistics, community relations, environmental and safety considerations, risk management, and long-term availability.
This is a permanent, role working a Monday to Friday schedule.
Travel to site will be required.
Requirements
Education: Undergraduate degree in Business, Commerce, or a relevant field. An internationally recognized procurement or supply chain certification is considered an asset.
Experience: A minimum of 11 years’ experience in supply chain and logistics/warehousing, ideally within the mining industry. Experience in remote site logistics/warehousing is a strong asset.
Leadership: Proven strategic thinker with a track record of inspiring high-performing teams and leading change.
Skills:
- Strong grasp of continuous improvement methodologies
- Effective communicator with disciplined use of management routines and tools
- Deep understanding of supply chain operations in complex environments
