Function
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Loop Test Engineer to support commissioning activities on a major offshore project in Norway. The successful candidate will be responsible for executing and verifying instrument loop checks, ensuring compliance with project specifications, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
Responsibility:
The Loop Test Engineer is responsible for planning and engineering of Loop Test scope in the PWP project.
Key responsibilities:
- Planning and Engineering of Loop Test execution
- Provide guidance in Loop Test strategy planning
- Be present at sites during Loop test
- Support the Loop Test Lead in organizing and overseeing loop test activities
Main tasks:
- Plan, schedule, and coordinate ahead of loop test activities in collaboration with commissioning and construction.
- Follow-up Loop test activities in yards
- Ensure loop testing is aligned with project milestones and commissioning sequences.
- Plan and follow up ATS work on various instruments.
- Preparation for daily activities including work permit.
- Maintain an up-to-date overview of loop test availability.
- Ensure required documentation, equipment, and personnel are ready for loop test.
- Verify that loop tests are executed in accordance with project specification
Requirements
- Technical education in instrumentation, automation, or electrical engineering.
- Experience with commissioning and loop testing on offshore or onshore industrial projects.
- Solid understanding of instrumentation systems and control systems.
- Familiarity with ATS (Automated Test Systems) and work permit procedures.
- Knowledge of project specifications, safety standards, and regulatory requirements (e.g., NORSOK, ATEX).
- Proven ability to plan, coordinate, and follow up loop test activities in collaboration with multiple disciplines.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
