Financial Controller – St. John's, NL
Introduction
Dovre is currently identifying candidates for a potential upcoming opportunity for a Financial Controller with a major energy client in Newfoundland & Labrador.
Function
- Liaises with Joint Venture partners and internal personnel to oversee production, revenue and royalty, commercial, and manage accounting issues.
- Represents Client on Commercial, Finance, and other Joint Venture subcommittees and provide advice on issues related to joint venture projects.
- Experience in both Public Sector Accounting Standards (PSAS) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
- Manages the drafting, development and negotiations of commercial and contractual arrangements, including interpretation of contracts, agreements, and maintains an in-depth knowledge of oil and gas operations, financial and market information.
- Leads the procurement functions for Client, including administration of responsibilities under the Public Procurement Act.
- Ensures the procurement and contract management processes are in place to enhance the value of Clients strategic investments.
- Leads all aspects of financial planning, including the development and maintenance of short and long-term financial plans and evaluation capabilities for OilCo and BAF.
Requirements
- Undergraduate or Master’s degree in Business or Commerce supplemented by a Chartered Professional Accounting designation or equivalent.
- Minimum 15 years’ work experience with a minimum of 10 years’ experience in a senior management or commercial role.
- Experience with investment analysis and financial modeling
