Financial Accountant – St. John's, NL
Introduction
Dovre is currently identifying candidates for a potential upcoming opportunity for a Financial Accountant with a major energy client in Newfoundland & Labrador.
Function
- Oil and gas accounting, including accuracy and reasonability of joint interest billings, monthly accruals, and, compliance with contracts and agreements.
- Monitoring and tracking of capital expenditures.
- Preparing budgets and forecasts for revenue, royalties, production costs, operating costs, and capital for the client
- Developing, analyzing, interpreting, and reporting oil and gas financial information.
- Providing key information to support budgeting.
Requirements
- Degree in Business or Commerce; accounting designation preferred or in progress.
- Experience conducting financial analysis using Power BI, automation tools, and AI-enabled tools.
- Develops data-driven commercial insights and scenario-based economic models.
- Responsible for oil & gas accounting, JIB accuracy, accruals, and contract compliance.
- Tracks capital expenditures.
- Prepares budgets and forecasts for revenue, royalties, production costs, operating costs, and capital.
- Develops and reports oil & gas financial information.
- Supports budgeting and corporate reporting.
- Ensures quarterly and annual financial statements are accurate and timely.
- Performs other related duties as required.
