Financial Accountant – St. John's, NL

Introduction

Dovre is currently identifying candidates for a potential upcoming opportunity for a Financial Accountant with a major energy client in Newfoundland & Labrador.

Function

  • Oil and gas accounting, including accuracy and reasonability of joint interest billings, monthly accruals, and, compliance with contracts and agreements.
  • Monitoring and tracking of capital expenditures.
  • Preparing budgets and forecasts for revenue, royalties, production costs, operating costs, and capital for the client
  • Developing, analyzing, interpreting, and reporting oil and gas financial information.
  • Providing key information to support budgeting.

Requirements

  • Degree in Business or Commerce; accounting designation preferred or in progress.
  • Experience conducting financial analysis using Power BI, automation tools, and AI-enabled tools.
  • Develops data-driven commercial insights and scenario-based economic models.
  • Responsible for oil & gas accounting, JIB accuracy, accruals, and contract compliance.
  • Tracks capital expenditures.
  • Prepares budgets and forecasts for revenue, royalties, production costs, operating costs, and capital.
  • Develops and reports oil & gas financial information.
  • Supports budgeting and corporate reporting.
  • Ensures quarterly and annual financial statements are accurate and timely.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
