Function
PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
- Expert role in the discipline
- Develop and maintain all methods, processes, procedures, instructions and check lists for the discipline in accordance with Company’s QA system
- Ensure and develop borderless performance to facilitate the utilization of the discipline’s personnel across different locations
- Maintain the competence development strategy for the discipline (areas of expertise and associated proficiency levels) to meet the current and future needs of the projects
- Assist DH with recruitment and resource steering for the discipline
- IT responsibility within own discipline:
- Responsible for selecting, recommending and upgrading relevant IT systems for the discipline (calculation tools, modelling tools, etc.)
- Give input to budget for IT department
- Ensuring that the application meets corporate quality standards and conform to industry practices
- Responsible for the work process associated with the application o Responsible for appointing super-users
MAIN TASK AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prioritize HSEQ in all aspects of the work and implement the Company’s HSEQ policies and targets within the discipline
- Assist DH with competence development and career planning for the personnel in the discipline, including Personnel Performance Appraisals (MAS) and preparation of personnel development plans
- Arrange cross-location meetings to inform own discipline regularly about any changes, updates and ongoing processes
- Secure proper experience transfer between projects
- Continuously collect best practice, assess potential changes and ensure sufficient communication on updates
- Act as a mentor for the Discipline Lead Engineers in projects
- Act as a mentor for the Engineers at project start-up, ensuring the use of best practice and current methods, processes, procedures and checklists
- Assist the projects on technical issues with client (technical requirements, codes and standards, etc.) in the role of discipline expert
- Identify proper methods for cross-location cooperation (borderless performance) to utilize resources and competence within the discipline (using communication tools, work methods and software)
- Responsible for cross-location competence development and continuous improvement of work processes and procedures, e.g. physical and virtual meetings, seminars, training workshop, etc.
- Participate (together with the DHs) in the development of appropriate resource strategies
- Secure internal cooperation with and between the super-users and adequate training activities in the discipline
- Contribute to a strong professional environment and the promotion of discipline-relevant material and information
- Responsible for improvements and treatment of non-conformances in Symbio
- IFS competence within own discipline
- Responsible for updating engineering norms for own discipline
- Responsible for method and processes in Comply within own discipline and interface to other disciplines
Requirements
EDUCATION
- Master or Bachelor degree in a relevant Engineering discipline
- Long relevant experience and/or additional qualifications may compensate for lack of relevant formal education
EXPERIENCE
- 5 – 10 years of relevant experience in the oil and gas industry
- Minimum of 5 years of engineering experience in offshore modification projects
