Function
As the EI&A Discipline Lead, you will be the primary technical authority within your area of expertise, responsible for ensuring technical quality in all sales, projects, and technology development. Your role will involve leveraging your technical knowledge in electrical, instrumentation, and automation systems to ensure the successful execution of company initiatives. You will provide expert guidance on the development of floating terminal solutions and contribute to the company’s growth through innovation and effective project delivery.
RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Technical Authority in Electrical, Instrumentation, and Automation Engineering
– Serve as the technical authority, overseeing and directly engaging in the design, engineering, construction, and quality assurance of electrical, instrumentation, and automation systems, including power distribution, control systems, and instrumentation layouts. Ensure compliance with industry norms, standards, safety regulations, and company policies.
– Lead or participate in safety studies such as HAZID, HAZOP, and design reviews, ensuring safety and quality are prioritized in the design and development of EI&A
systems.
– Ensure effective coordination between disciplines to manage interfaces and compatibility, integrating EI&A aspects seamlessly into overall project designs.
2. Electrical, Instrumentation, and Automation Design and Development
– Perform and lead the design and development of electrical systems, including power distribution networks, control systems, and instrumentation for ECOE’s solutions. Directly contribute to the development of EI&A systems across all company projects, ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality and
performance.
– Drive technology development and innovation within the EI&A discipline, contributing to the advancement of the company’s automation and control systems
3. Quality assurance in sales and project work
– Responsible for ensuring that all EI&A engineering outputs, including designs, simulations, and documentation, meet the highest quality standards and comply with relevant norms, standards, and regulations.
– Responsible for the quality of EI&A aspects (C&E, schematics, control logic, instrumentation diagrams, etc.) in projects, ensuring all designs and implementations meet required standards.
– Ensure knowledge transfer and maintain high quality across projects.
– Provide EI&A engineering expertise in sales processes and ensure quality for EI&Au0002related work conducted by sales engineers.
4. Commissioning and Installation Activities
– Oversee and ensure that all EI&A components, whether supplied by external vendors or developed in-house, are rigorously tested and verified against both project-specific requirements and the global Cause & Effect (C&E) matrix. This includes ensuring that all functions are operational and compliant with design specifications before leaving the factory and after installation on-site.
– Lead commissioning activities, including Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) for electrical, instrumentation, and automation
systems, ensuring full compliance with design specifications and project-specific requirements.
5. Task Prioritization and Resource Management
– Prioritize and manage tasks to meet company goals and project deadlines.
– Optimize and coordinate resources by collaborating with project managers and other leads to efficiently allocate resources and ensure smooth integration of EI&A
tasks across projects.
6. Supplier and Engineering Partner Management
– Follow up with engineering firms and equipment suppliers within your domain to ensure deliveries comply with contracts and company requirements.
– Lead and/or partake in supplier qualification processes within your discipline and manage relationships with external and internal partners.
7. Competence and Technology Development
– Develop the company’s EI&A engineering expertise, lead innovation initiatives, and continuously improve methodologies to ensure the company remains at the forefront of the industry.
8. Documentation, tools and Library Management
– Maintain accurate, up-to-date documentation and manage the EI&A discipline library on TEAMS, ensuring it is organized and accessible for future reference. Ensure that the correct tools are established for the tasks at hand.
